In 2024 alone, my team and I were responsible for generating over half a million in new business revenue for neurodiversity companies by helping them get found by those who need them the most.
But if we put that vain statement of mine to one side for a second, we’re left facing the reason why that was possible – because there’s a serious issue, STILL, when it comes to neurodivergent minds getting the support to understand themselves and the solutions to work with their differences.
Despite me growing up functioning in the world, I knew I didn’t fit – that fact stared me in the face every day. Yet it wasn’t until I started to be called an “ADHD f*ck!” in the workplace at 18 that I started to understand why that might be.
Thankfully, I took that lovely feedback and started to research what it might mean for me and my life. The life-changing revelations and subsequent growth that came from those self-teachings led to me leaving employment in the rear view mirror and beginning a degree in psychology. Although, in typical “ADHD f*ck!” fashion, I didn’t make it past the first year. I dropped out.
As, in that time, I was beyond lucky to be one of the last people in that catchment area (Salford) to have access to a free diagnosis and treatment plan, which took me to this present moment.
Let me make it as clear as possible.
If I wasn’t in the precise geography that I was in at the exact time that I was there, I would still be undiagnosed and untreated. A misunderstood misfit. Neglected. Non-nefariously, sure – but abandoned nonetheless, along with everyone else that doesn’t have thousands of pounds available just to be seen, heard and validated.
Back to the present moment, with the privilege of working closely with the neurodiversity sector’s biggest brands, I’ve found myself uniquely positioned at the conjunction between the individuals that desperately need solutions and support and the sector that is tirelessly innovating to provide them.
With that position, it has become clear to me that it’s an unrealistic expectation for the network that are innovating with these solutions to, at the same time, make sure that they’re being found by the people that need them as well as they could be. Meaning, any support they get regarding their relevancy and accessibility goes a long way indeed.
This is why I believe a digital town square, like The Neurodiversity Directory, where neurodivergent individuals can interact directly with any potential solutions is the necessary next step to bridge this current gap.
Unlike anything else, The Neurodiversity Directory is the most up-to-date collection of accessible solutions to any-and-all neurodivergent individuals, providing an ever-growing list of active ADHD/ASD coaches and neurodiversity companies that are waiting to help. Individuals can contact each listing (company/coach), free of charge, at the click of a button – ultimately contributing towards that company/coach’s lead generation.
You can help me move the needle in neurodiversity by building out your business’ profile on The Neurodiversity Directory or claiming your listing if we’ve already set your profile up. Despite only launching January 2025, every single day we’re seeing leads fly in to various listings.
If you haven’t claimed your business’ profile yet, you won’t see them. If you haven’t made one for your business yet, you won’t generate them.
Let’s sack off the silos that traditional business has set up and move the needle as one neurodiversity network. I am going to need your help!
