ADHD Direct – Scotland’s Leading ADHD & Autism Clinic

ADHD Direct is a Glasgow clinic that assesses children and adults for ADHD and autism, then stays involved with treatment and practical support afterwards. Appointments are held at its Glasgow clinic or by video, so it takes patients from across the UK. It is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and its clinicians are registered with the GMC and NMC — a useful check for anyone who needs a diagnosis that schools, employers and GPs will recognise.

ADHD assessments for adults and children take place in a single appointment of about two hours; autism assessments are split over two appointments. Beforehand, patients and families complete questionnaires so the clinician has background to work from, and the assessment itself combines a clinical interview with standard rating scales covering developmental and family history. Cognitive testing is also available. A free online ADHD screening offers a first step, and people already diagnosed by the NHS or another provider can transfer their care. Fees are not listed on the website and are shown through the online booking system.

After diagnosis, the clinic handles medication reviews and prescribing and keeps the patient's GP informed, and offers routes beyond medication: Still Me, a six-session ADHD coaching programme for adults; Parents INC, an ADHD-specific parent training programme run over six interactive sessions; and counselling support. The clinic is led by chief executive Gordon Brown, a consultant nurse. ADHD Direct was named ADHD Service of the Year 2023/24 in the Prestige Awards and is a Disability Confident Committed and Living Wage accredited employer.
