About Becky Grace Therapy

Becky Grace is a CBT and EMDR therapist in Norwich who works with adults caught in patterns that insight alone has not shifted — OCD, trauma, eating difficulties, perfectionism, shame and burnout. Many of her clients are thoughtful, highly responsible adults, often therapists, healthcare workers and leaders, who can describe their difficulties in detail yet keep repeating them. Her own framework for this, The Good Person Trap®, describes how being helpful and responsible can become tied to safety and self-worth, at the cost of the person's own needs. She sees clients in person at 125 Ber Street, Norwich, and online across the UK, Europe and worldwide, excluding the US and Canada.

Becky is a late-diagnosed AuDHD woman with her own history of recovery from difficulties with food, control and self-worth, and she describes her practice as neurodivergence-informed and LGBTQIA+ affirming. In the room, that means attention to how masking, sensory needs, executive functioning, attachment, trauma and social expectations interact, rather than treating neurodivergence as a separate problem to be managed. She is a BABCP-accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with postgraduate CBT training from King's College London and further training in CBT-E for eating difficulties, exposure and response prevention, and Inference-Based CBT for OCD. She trained in EMDR through an EMDR Association UK recognised provider and is working towards practitioner accreditation, and has more than fifteen years' experience across NHS services, specialist teams, university mental health, disability support and independent practice.

Work begins with a 90-minute Clarity & Direction assessment, which produces a psychological formulation, a recommended approach and a written summary. Ongoing therapy runs in 50-minute sessions, weekly or fortnightly and reviewed as it goes, drawing on CBT, EMDR, ERP, compassion-focused, attachment-focused and somatic methods. For trauma, EMDR intensives concentrate the work into longer blocks of three or six hours, with weekend and multi-day formats also available. Sessions are prepaid and need 48 hours' notice to cancel. Becky also offers clinical supervision and private practice strategy sessions for therapists, and training and workshops for organisations.

Questions about Becky Grace Therapy

Can I see Becky Grace online if I live outside the UK?

Yes. Online therapy is available across the UK, Europe and worldwide, with the exception of the US and Canada. In-person sessions take place in Norwich (NR1).

What happens in Becky Grace's Clarity & Direction assessment?

It is a 90-minute appointment that maps your history and current difficulties into a psychological formulation, recommends an approach and ends with a written summary and next steps. It is also the starting point for EMDR intensives.

Is an EMDR intensive hours of uninterrupted processing?

No. Becky describes intensives as extended time used flexibly for preparation, processing, breaks, regulation and integration, and says preparation is not a test a client has to pass.

When does Becky Grace Therapy offer appointments?

The practice lists hours of Tuesday to Thursday, 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, 8.30am to 12.30pm. Sessions are prepaid, with 48 hours' notice needed to cancel.
