Flint Healthcare — Autism & ADHD Assessments, Brighton

Flint Healthcare is a private psychiatry clinic in Woodingdean, Brighton, founded in 2023 by consultant psychiatrists Dr Richard Bowskill and Dr Tim Rank. It offers autism, ADHD and combined neurodevelopmental assessments for adults and young people aged 16 and over, in person at the Brighton clinic or online for anyone in the UK. It suits people who want a private diagnosis, and people whose autistic and ADHD traits overlap enough that a single-condition assessment could miss half the picture — including those who have masked for years, or who reached burnout after appearing to cope.

Assessments are carried out by consultant psychiatrists — the team lists more than 20, GMC registered and members of the Royal College of Psychiatrists — with clinical psychologists alongside. Autism assessments use ADOS-2 and ADI-R with structured clinical interviews and a developmental history, and explicitly consider masking, diagnostic overshadowing and co-occurring anxiety, depression, OCD or ADHD. Adult ADHD assessments use DIVA-5 and rating scales such as the ASRS and Wender Utah, with 60 to 90 minutes of interview and a written report within one to two weeks, shared with your GP if you consent. A distinguishing feature is continuity: the psychiatrist who assesses you is the one who titrates any ADHD medication over monthly reviews and follows you up afterwards.

The clinic is CQC registered. Reports include recommendations such as therapy, psychoeducation and reasonable adjustments at work or in education. Beyond neurodevelopmental work, Flint offers counselling and talking therapies including DBT, OCD, mood and memory assessments, a menopause and mental health service, pharmacogenomic testing and virtual reality exposure therapy. The site does not mention NHS Right to Choose, so assessments should be treated as self-funded.
