About Gill Featherstone

Gill Featherstone is a UK neurodiversity coach who works online with neurodivergent adults, teenagers and families, most often around overwhelm, the demands of everyday life and burnout — avoiding it, or finding a way back from it. She is neurodivergent herself, as is her daughter, and knows at first hand what supporting a neurodivergent household involves.

What she brings is an unusual mix of research and coaching. For more than 20 years she worked as a social and educational researcher, latterly as a senior research manager leading Department for Education-funded projects on special educational needs and disabilities, inclusion and the education workforce — including evaluations of the Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools programme and the SEND National Professional Qualification. She moved into coaching to work directly with people rather than evaluate the services around them. She is a certified Neurodiversity Life Coach and a professional coach through ICF-accredited programmes, an NLP Master Practitioner and a holistic life coach and mind–body practitioner, and holds a Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education. Alongside her practice she works part-time as an employment specialist on the Connect to Work programme.

Coaching is one to one over Zoom, booked monthly or fortnightly, and covers ADHD and autism, executive function, working out priorities, confidence and self-esteem, coping strategies and planning ahead. Her stated stance is neuro-affirming: interested in strengths as well as difficulties, and in finding strategies that are sustainable for the person using them. A free 15-minute discovery call is the first step, and she also offers free and low-cost workbooks.
