About Kozie Clothes

Kozie Clothes is a US maker of sensory and adaptive clothing for children, from preemies and newborns up through older children and teens. It is aimed at parents and carers of autistic children, children with ADHD and children with sensory processing differences — the child who pulls at seams and labels, seeks firm pressure to settle, or struggles through the morning routine of getting dressed — and at families whose child also has medical needs that ordinary clothing makes harder.

The company was founded in 2013 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, by Susan Donohoe, a paediatric occupational therapist with certification in sensory integration and sensory enrichment therapy, who is also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. Her working rule — make something that works first, then make it look good and easy to use — shows in the core range: compression shirts, shorts and trousers in nylon spandex rather than cotton, chosen so that the pressure stays even, the fabric breathes and wicks moisture, and flat seams and removable tags keep tactile irritation down. The intention is steady deep-pressure input from clothing a child can wear through an ordinary day, rather than a piece of equipment set aside for certain moments.

Around the compression line sit weighted vests, weighted blankets and weighted toys, seamless socks and seasonal pieces. Kozie has also moved into medical adaptive clothing, including bodysuits designed for G-tube feeding and IV access and pulse oximeter socks, which is useful for children whose sensory and medical needs overlap. Products are made in the USA, and the brand runs a separate site for overseas orders. A free guide to dressing a child with sensory challenges is available on the website.

Questions about Kozie Clothes

Why does Kozie use nylon spandex rather than cotton for compression wear?

Kozie says nylon spandex holds consistent, comfortable compression and is more breathable and moisture-wicking than cotton, which matters for clothing worn all day.

Does Kozie Clothes make clothing for children with medical needs?

Yes. Its adaptive range includes bodysuits designed for G-tube feeding and IV access, and pulse oximeter socks.

Can I order Kozie Clothes from outside the US?

Yes. Kozie runs a separate site for overseas customers alongside its US shop.
