About Lexxic

Lexxic is a psychological consultancy that works with employers on the practical side of neurodiversity at work — finding out what a neurodivergent employee needs, putting adjustments in place, and giving managers and HR teams the confidence to keep those adjustments working. Its clients are mostly organisations: the NHS, UK government departments, FTSE 100 companies, occupational health providers, and bodies in the justice and education sectors. Individuals can self-refer, but most people meet Lexxic through an employer, HR or occupational health referral.

The company was founded in 2007 by Nicola James, a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who set it up after handling her own dyslexia in corporate roles. In November 2024 it acquired Do-IT Solutions, whose Do-IT Profiler — an online tool that maps a person's strengths and pressure points across cognitive areas and wellbeing — now sits underneath most of its work. Assessment runs from one-to-two-hour screenings for dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD and autism, through role-specific workplace needs assessments that include a line manager questionnaire and a report of around 20 pages, to full diagnostic assessments delivered by qualified clinicians. An enhanced ADHD screening, signed off by a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, is aimed at professionals who need exam adjustments without going through a full diagnosis.

Coaching is delivered online, usually as a package of six sessions led by psychologists and experienced coaches, and needs no diagnosis or prior assessment. Alongside one-to-one strategies coaching, Lexxic offers collaborative coaching that brings an employee and their manager into the same sessions — relevant where the friction sits in the working relationship rather than with the individual. Training follows a four-level pathway from all-staff awareness sessions to a two-hour course for line managers, a one-day HR masterclass and a champions programme, run in-house for a single organisation or as open courses. Employers that want to measure progress can work towards the Neurodiversity Smart accreditation, which looks at recruitment, management and the working environment. Lexxic is headquartered in Swindon and works across the UK and Ireland. Fees are not published; coaching enquiries start with a free 20-minute call.

Questions about Lexxic

Can I go to Lexxic as an individual rather than through my employer?

Yes. Lexxic accepts self-referrals as well as referrals from employers, HR teams and occupational health providers.

What is the difference between Lexxic's screening and diagnostic assessments?

A screening identifies likely neurodivergent traits and workplace recommendations in one to two hours, while a diagnostic assessment by a qualified clinician confirms or rules out a formal diagnosis and can support exam access arrangements or DSA.

What is Lexxic's collaborative coaching?

It brings an employee and their line manager into sessions together with a coach, giving both a structured space to discuss what is and is not working and agree adjustments.

Do I need a diagnosis to get coaching from Lexxic?

No. Coaching does not require a diagnosis, a referral or a prior workplace needs assessment.
