About Lynne Tapper

Lynne Tapper is a Leeds-based coach who works with autistic young people from 16 and autistic adults, and with the people around them — parents, partners and employers. Her practice, Communication Coaching, grew out of a career spent thinking about how people communicate well with others who communicate differently. That makes it a fit for someone at a point of change, such as leaving home, starting university, beginning a new job, dating or becoming a parent, where the gap between how they work and how the world expects them to work can suddenly widen.

Before coaching, Lynne worked as an NHS speech and language therapist with adults, running courses for deaf adults and the professionals who worked with them, and she has also taught English as a foreign language. She has coached neurodivergent adults since 2018, holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching from Barefoot Coaching and the University of Chester, is an ICF-credentialed coach, and has trained as an organisational and relationship systems coach. She is also co-founder of Gold Mind Neurodiversity Training, where she trained as an ADHD specialist coach after her own ADHD diagnosis in 2023, and she lives in a neurodivergent household. Sessions follow a clear shape: reflecting on the current situation, identifying strengths and how to use them, exploring options, building skills, and keeping momentum once changes are made.

Coaching used to take place face to face at The Orchard Therapy Centre in Horsforth, but now runs online over Zoom, which opens it up beyond Yorkshire. Alongside one-to-one work, Lynne coaches parents who want to help an autistic child build confidence and self-acceptance, trains employers on managing and supporting autistic staff, and runs social confidence groups in schools. Fees are not published on the site.

Questions about Lynne Tapper

No. She used to coach at The Orchard Therapy Centre in Horsforth but now works remotely over Zoom.

How does Lynne Tapper's speech and language therapy background shape her coaching?

She spent years in the NHS working with adults on communication, and her coaching focuses on how people communicate well with those who communicate differently — including families and colleagues.

Can parents or employers work with Lynne Tapper rather than the autistic person?

Yes. She coaches parents supporting an autistic child and trains employers on managing autistic staff.
