About NeuroDiverse Community CIC
NeuroDiverse Community CIC is a community interest company offering SEND advice, peer groups and wellbeing sessions for neurodivergent children, young people, adults and their families. It runs from two hubs — Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire and Windsor in Berkshire — with some support available online. A diagnosis is not a condition of entry, which matters for families still waiting on an assessment or unsure whether to pursue one.
The directors are parent carers of neurodivergent children and neurodivergent themselves. The work began informally in 2019 and was incorporated as a CIC in 2023, born of the delays and isolation they met trying to get support while moving with the military. That history shapes the offer: Armed Forces families — serving personnel, reservists, cadets, veterans and their households — get help with EHCP transfers and school moves after a posting, a Forces Families drop-in and a veterans' peer group. For civilian and Forces families alike, the advice side covers needs assessments, EHCPs, annual reviews and tribunal support, alongside benefits guidance and observation reports.
The group programme is organised by age: Sensory Babes for under-fives, Sensory Explorers for primary-age children, YouthAbility for 10 to 16-year-olds, a Young Leaders group up to 25, EmployAbility for skills and work from 16, and peer-led sessions for adults. There are also Women and Girls sessions, outdoor ECO Forces learning and gentle-exercise Wellness Wednesdays. Professionals can book training, including suicide prevention. The organisation holds a Silver award under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme and is a Disability Confident employer. Group timetables differ between the two hubs, so it is worth checking the events calendar for the nearer one.
