About Neurodiverse Connection
Neurodiverse Connection is a neurodivergent-led community interest company that trains, advises and challenges health, social care and education services on how they support autistic and neurodivergent people. Alongside that professional work it runs monthly online peer meetups and a public resource library, so it is as relevant to a late-identified adult looking for community as to an NHS team rethinking an inpatient ward.
It was set up in 2020 by Jill Corbyn, who was diagnosed autistic as an adult after years in health and social care consultancy, much of it alongside autistic people. Every piece of work is delivered and led by neurodivergent team members, and profits are reinvested in the community. The organisation's stance is openly needs-led: it runs a campaign against Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis, and much of its consultancy centres on inpatient and community care — including delivery of the NHS Culture of Care programme, lived experience reviews, co-production, peer mentoring and advice on housing and sensory environments.
Training is modular. Organisations can book a single 60 to 90-minute introduction or build a bespoke curriculum across topics such as neurodiversity-affirming practice, identity, healthcare settings, buildings and environments, self-harm, eating disorders and employment, online or in person in the UK. Named courses include the Neurodivergent Wellbeing Approach and Untangling Autism and Chronic Illness. Pricing is quoted per booking, with discounts for community groups. For individuals, the monthly online meetups include groups for autistic men, late-discovered adults, Black autistic people and LGBTQIA+ neurodivergent people — a useful starting point for anyone who wants to meet others before committing to anything more.
