About Sensorywise Ltd

Sensory Wise is a West Midlands supplier of sensory toys, portable sensory kit, sports equipment and therapy and education resources, trading online as the Love Sensory shop. Alongside the shop it designs and installs sensory rooms and play areas and runs training for the people who support children and adults with sensory and learning needs. Customers include families at home as well as schools, early years settings, residential homes, local authorities, charities, NHS services and community organisations.

The business was set up in November 2014 by Lucy Taylor, who had just graduated with first-class honours in Special Educational Needs, Inclusion Studies and Education Studies. It started with support from the SPEED Plus start-up programme at the University of Wolverhampton and was named Graduate Start-Up of the Year in 2015. Her stated starting point is that people reach their potential when their needs are understood and they have the right tools — which in practice means choosing equipment to fit how a particular person takes in sensory input, not the other way round. The shop covers small handheld sensory items and portable kit that travels between home and school, as well as physical activity equipment and learning resources, for early years through to adulthood.

The room design and installation service is the part most relevant to schools and care settings planning a whole space rather than buying individual items, and the training workshops focus on practical strategies for special educational needs and disability for staff such as teaching assistants and care workers. Sensory Wise is based across Wolverhampton and Dudley and delivers across the UK. It is a registered limited company, Sensory Wise Ltd (09300554). Fees for installations and training are not published, so settings will need to ask for a quote.
