Spectrum Sisters — Autism & ADHD Assessments for Women & Girls

Spectrum Sisters is the UK’s only assessment service dedicated exclusively to autism and ADHD diagnostic assessments for women and girls, delivered by a female-only, psychologist-led multidisciplinary team combining professional expertise with lived experience of neurodivergence. The service exists for a specific and well-documented gap: high-masking women and girls whose presentations differ from the male-derived stereotypes, and who as a result spend years being missed, misunderstood or misdiagnosed. Assessments are available remotely across the UK for anyone aged six and above, with no referral needed.

The assessment process is NICE-aligned and built on gold-standard diagnostic tools — ACIA, ADOS-2, ADI-R, DIVA-5 and QbTest — carried out by practitioners with advanced training in female autism and ADHD. Crucially, the approach looks beyond diagnostic criteria to understand the whole person: masking, sensory differences, strengths, difficulties and day-to-day functional impact all form part of the picture, and every report includes a full neurodevelopmental profile and functional assessment. Clients receive a detailed report rather than a diagnosis on a page, walked through with them, with specialist post-diagnostic support available afterwards. Autism, ADHD and combined assessments are offered with transparent pricing and no waiting lists.

What distinguishes the service most is the experience clients describe: being trusted, believed and validated rather than judged or pathologised. Families write of being helped to see that their daughters were never broken and did not need fixing — that what they needed was the right scaffolding to thrive — and adults describe reports written in a genuinely neuro-affirming way that helped them understand themselves, in some cases turning what could have been a distressing process into a healing one.
