Welcome Brain Consulting

Welcome Brain Consulting is an Edinburgh-based consultancy that helps employers, venues and event organisers change the way they work so that neurodivergent staff, delegates and visitors are not left to cope with environments built around one kind of mind. It works with organisations rather than individuals, and it is most useful to HR teams, managers and senior leaders who want to move beyond awareness sessions towards changes in policy, process and physical space. Incorporated in Scotland in October 2023, it has worked with clients including NHS Scotland, NatWest, ACC Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Training is CPD-certified and runs as half-day or full-day sessions, in person or online, covering neuroinclusion fundamentals, management practice and legal responsibilities, with versions for employees, managers, HR teams and senior leaders. A distinctive strand is Neurodiversity First Responder training, which prepares named colleagues to offer calm, dignified support when someone is overwhelmed or in distress — a model that borrows its shape from mental health first aid. For organisations wanting a structured route, the audit and certification service reviews employment processes, identifies where neurodivergent employees are being let down and certifies organisations once the recommendations are in place. HR guides and policy documents on recruitment, onboarding and adjustments are available alongside tailored consultancy.

The events work is where Welcome Brain has built much of its profile. It runs a venue accreditation framework at Silver, Gold and Platinum tiers covering cognitive and sensory accessibility, and helped develop the Neurodiversity in Events Checklist with ABPCO, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the EICC. That work won the Impact Award at the Scottish Event Awards 2026. Fees are not published, and every engagement is scoped with the client first.
